Crime / Real Housewives Salahis Served With Papers... at Their Own Party Albeit not the sanctioned-by-Bravo party By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Aug 9, 2010 8:37 AM CDT Copied This file photo provided by NBC Universal shows the cast of "The Real Housewives of DC," L-R: Catherine Ommanney, Stacie Scott Turner, Mary Schmidt Amons, Lynda Erkiletian and Michaele Salahi. (AP Photo/NBC Universal) Talk about a buzzkill: Michaele and Tareq Salahi were served with papers at their own party Thursday night. A PR firm claims the Salahis owe it more than $15,000 for its promotion of the couple's sketchy 2008 “charity” polo event, and an employee says the process server handed Tareq the papers—twice—only to have Tareq drop them and call security. A rep insists to the Washington Post the paperwork in question was “a confidential offer from a media source willing to pay for the photos and video of the Whoopi Goldberg situation” that the Salahis turned down. It all went down at a party for the Real Housewives of DC premiere that night…but not the official Bravo party. The Salahis ditched that in favor of hosting their own fete at a gay bar—and charging anywhere from $25 to $500 admission. Assuming the couple really was served, they may have a few fresh ways to pay their debts: They are hoping to produce a Michaele Salahi Barbie doll as well as Salahi Halloween costumes, a source tells Radar.
