A 23-year-old New York man likely set a record when he survived being shot at least 21 times yesterday, the New York Daily News reports. Angel Alvarez and Luis Soto exchanged fire in Harlem before police arrived and sprayed Alvarez with gunfire. Alvarez was shot 'in the arms, legs, abdomen, jaw," his sister says. "He's doing all right."
"He had chest and abdomen shots," Alvarez's lawyer says. "It's a miracle. They missed the heart and major arteries." A forensic pathologist says, "More than 20 gunshot wounds is a record. Of course, the real issue is where you get shot. One bullet can kill you, but believe it or not, a body can survive a lot of bullet wounds."
