Today's "How to Treat a Lady Lesson:" If you let your girlfriend get smacked by a baseball on videotape that gets viewed more than 350,000 times, you will get dumped. When a foul ball was hit into the stands during the fourth inning of Monday night's Houston Astros game, Bo Wyble ducked, letting the ball smack soon-to-be-ex-paramour Sara Saco-Vertiz on the arm. Making the story even better, Saco-Vertiz was wary of their left-field seats, and had told Wyble, "Baby, we're going to get hit." His response? "I'll catch it if it comes this way."
The couple, or former couple, appeared on CBS's The Early Show today to talk about the incident. Host Harry Smith gave Wyble quite the hard time after he explained why he ducked ("I figured she would move"), saying, "You mean you didn't have a brain aneurysm and your brain exploded?" When he asked the couple about their status, Saco-Vertiz indicated they were kaput, but said, "Well, I mean it's not over because of the ball. Um…"
