Jim Furyk is the most newsworthy golfer of the day—sorry, Tiger—for something he didn't do: show up for his pro-am tee time. The third-ranked player's cellphone died overnight, and with it, his alarm, reports the Newark Star-Ledger. He overslept, but not by much, and was just 5 minutes late for his 7:30 tee time. Nevertheless, under PGA rules, he's still disqualified from The Barclays, which starts tomorrow.
"I just tore out of there, threw a pair of pants on and a shirt," Furyk said later. "Still have no belt, no socks and my shoes are untied."
