An internal investigation by the folks at BP confirms what we all suspected: BP messed up. The in-house report says that the company's engineers made mistakes while finishing the oil well and also misread pressure data that warned of a blowout, reports Bloomberg. It is therefore in part responsible for the explosion that killed 11 workers and sent 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf.

But the 200-page report, due out in the next 10 days, also accused partners of making mistakes. Indeed, BP lawyers have made several attempts to spread the blame and have consistently tried to pin the crime on partners TransOcean and Halliburton. Click here for the latest on the Gulf spill.
